A Raw Fairy Aesthetic
The New Beauty is a generative AI project that redefines the visual codes of dark fairy aesthetics through a minimalist and hyper-realistic lens. Moving away from conventional perfection, this series explores a raw, unapologetic beauty—one that embraces imperfection, texture, and humanity beneath the fantasy.
Inspired by the sculptural elegance of Iris Van Herpen and the photography of Nick Knight, The New Beauty imagines ethereal figures with imperfect skin, textured pores, scars, freckles, and asymmetries—real bodies wrapped in futuristic, minimal adornments. The makeup is present but subtle, enhancing rather than masking.
This project challenges the polished standards of beauty often associated with the fairy archetype and instead proposes a new canon : fragile yet powerful, dark yet luminous, unsettling yet magnetic. A contemporary ode to imperfection elevated into an art form.
